Robert Oliver, D.D.S.

Dr. Oliver is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and University of Pacific School of Dentistry.  He completed an additional two years of training in pediatric dentistry at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is certified as a specialist for treating infants, children and teenagers. Dr. Oliver is joining his family to continue to provide quality care in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our Office History and It's Uniqueness

Our Sebastopol office began in 1978 as a one one person show. It was established to care for neighborhood children as an alternative to larger and more highly staffed urban-type offices. Yes, these places do exist, however, with growth, some things have occurred.

Our newer Windsor office opened in 2006 and complements our country-style cottage office of rural Sebastopol with spacious rooms, state-of-the-art equipment and decor, and plenty of fun activities for families. Dr. Oliver chose this location with convenience in mind, just a few minutes from the Highway 101 Central Windsor exit.

Both office environments are designed to ease fears and help children feel comfortable. The treatment we offer is relaxed and a special effort is made to calm the apprehensive patient (and parent!). We also are small enough to take time to get to know our patients and their families: for us that is a fun luxury.

New Technologies

We have continued to change with technology and are proud to offer: digital radiography, air abrasion, general anesthesia, intraoral imaging and conscious sedatives.

What We Do

Our emphasis is on preventative dental care. Dr. Oliver believes in preventing costly dental repairs by diagnosing early when they are still small and manageable.  Proper hygiene techniques combined with regular office check ups (about every six months beginning at the age of two) are a must in curbing larger dental problems.  This process also allows your child to have positive dental experiences.

Office check ups involve a complete examination, cleaning treatment, any necessary X-rays and, if necessary, an oral hygiene and diet review.  Dr. Oliver will answer any questions and explain procedures that are needed to treat your child.
 

Paula, our Financial Coordinator, is responsible for the office administration and patient financial arrangements.  She attended the Business School at San Francisco State University and has worked in real estate, hotel sales/marketing, and childcare, and joined our practice in 1998.  Paula lives in West Sonoma County and enjoys spending time with family and friends enjoying the bounty of Sonoma County and the Pacific Northwest. 

Karen is our patient coordinator.  She is responsible for scheduling appointments, coordinating treatment, clinical assisting, and community outreach to our local schools.  She is licensed by the State of California as a Registered Dental Assistant and has worked in pediatric dentistry for more than 25 years.  She joined our team in 2006.  Karen lives in Sonoma County with her family.  She enjoys all the healthy living and outdoor activites that the county has to offer. 

Donna, our Clinical Coordinator, started working in pediatric dentistry in 1990 and has been working with Dr. Oliver as a Registered Dental Assistant since 1998. 

Jessica is our Clinical Assistant and is licensed by the State of California as a Registered Dental Assistant.  She joined our team in 2007.  Jessica enjoys working with children and making them feel at ease.  She is fluent in both Spanish and English languages.

Community Outreach

As a gift to our communities, Dr. Oliver has prepared an educational dental prevention program for our preschools and elementary classrooms. One of our experienced Registered Dental Assistants leads an entertaining presentation that focuses on the importance of a healthy and beautiful smile. Fun props and storyboards are used to motivate daily brushing and flossing habits, and healthy food choices are discussed. We also invite classrooms to plan a field trip to our Windsor of Sebastopol offices, where they can explore and learn about dental care in our fun and relaxed environment!
