Our Legacy

We’ve got what most pediatric dental offices don’t: a very fun history. Life of Smiles was built on three generations of pediatric dentistry, mentorship, and family trust. From a converted barn in Sebastopol to a thriving two-location practice, we've stayed true to one mission: trusted, personalized care that families return to, again and again.

Bob Oliver, The Founder

Dream it

〰️

Dream it 〰️

Bob Oliver completed his pediatric dental residency and opened his first practice in Alameda, growing it into a thriving practice with a partner. But he had a bigger vision — bringing exceptional pediatric dentistry to a smaller community. With a 50/50 decision to make, Bob and Judy flipped a coin (yep, you heard that correctly!). Bob bought the property where our Sebastopol location still stands today. He renovated the historic barn on the land he lived into a two-chair dental practice. It was intimate, intentional, and it set the tone for everything that came next.

Rob Oliver, The Builder

Build it

〰️

Build it 〰️

Bob's son Rob took over the Sebastopol practice and grew it — expanding and modernizing the flagship office while preserving its warmth. He then built the Windsor office from the ground up, extending Life of Smiles across Sonoma County and beyond. Through it all, Rob held onto the same values: quality care, mentorship, and relationships that lasted decades.

Simon Bell, The Next Generation

Carry it on

Carry it on 〰️

Now in the practice's third generation, Simon, who is the nephew of Rob and grandson of Bob is honored to carry forward what his predecessors built, while bringing new technology and modern systems to the practice. What hasn't changed is the mission: we see every patient personally, we know our families, and we invest in their long-term care.
